The Races That Will Decide the Future of Our Democracy
In these midterms, I truly believe that control of Congress isn’t the only thing on the line – but also the very fate of our democracy.
We have a real chance to flip the House and retake the Senate majority. But doing so means looking beyond our own backyards and standing shoulder to shoulder with strong Democratic candidates fighting in key battlegrounds across Texas and the nation.
As we head into the home stretch of this election cycle, I want to highlight three critical Senate races that need our grassroots support right now:
James Talarico in Texas
All eyes are on Texas and for good reason: We have an amazing shot at flipping our state blue.
James is running against Ken Paxton, one of the most corrupt, anti-voting rights attorneys general in Texas history. Back in 2021, while I was standing inside the U.S. Capitol ready to defend my colleagues from an insurrectionist mob, Paxton was filing lawsuits attempting to overturn a free and fair election and rallying the crowd up outside.
We cannot let a corrupt election-denier claim a seat in the U.S. Senate. Texans deserve better, and James has Paxton on the ropes – a recent poll showed him leading by 6 POINTS!

Sherrod Brown in Ohio
Sherrod Brown has spent his career being an unwavering champion for working people, manufacturing, and union families in the Senate.
In 2024, crypto billionaires and right-wing super PACs spent tens of millions of dollars to flood the airwaves and defeat him. Now, those same dark-money special interests who have Trump firmly in their pockets are dropping tens of millions more to keep Sherrod from returning to the Senate.
